Anniversary Adventures

There is nothing more exciting than being married to someone who wants to be just as adventurous as you are. Ever since I was a little girl I've been curious about the world, and exploring new places. Being with Austin has taught me that there are no limits when it comes to adventures, and it's certainly not a bad thing to explore our own country. I used to think only cool travelers traveled to other countries, but in America we have so much going on, why not explore it first? The older we grow together, the more we want to see. We want to devote our lives to consistently making new adventures and seeing new places together.  Right now we usually get two days off in a row together about once a month, hopefully that changes soon but even if we don't we make time and don't sleep to have super fun adventures. The last two were intended for our anniversary celebration and they were so incredibly peaceful. One weekend we went to Sedona, Arizona which is about a seven and a half hour drive from where we live in California.

Our first stop was a little old "ghost town", Jerome, that wasn't a ghost town at all in a sense...if you get what I mean? There were cute restaurants, little gift shops, bars, and coffee shops. It was actually fairly busy for the location, but we didn't spend much time there.
We had to be at our B&B to check in by 2 and we had a lot of time to kill so we went to the Montezuma Well and took a little hike. It was just a two minute drive from where we were staying which was actually awesome and we made it just in time to check in. The couple we stayed with, Maria and Tim, were just so wonderful and their home was so welcoming and incredibly constructed. Maria made us breakfast muffins and even let me make myself a latte in the morning. It was our first time staying with someone through Airbnb.com while they were also in the home. I'm glad we did it because it just is a fun experience to meet new people and experience first hand hospitality. The cool thing about Sedona was that, even though you're in the desert drive a literally two miles out and you're in a beautiful forest of trees. Our next stop was Flagstaff and The Grand Canyon, which is where we got engaged.

Downtown Flagstaff was super charming and had a lot going on, I hope to someday travel back. We had lunch at a restaurant called "Red Curry Vegan Kitchen", pictured above, it was hands down the best food that I have had in a long time. If you ever are passing through definitely make it a priority to stop here. We only had a two hour drive left until The Grand Canyon and I was so excited to be there again. It is definitely in the top list of favorite places of mine.

We watched the sunset in each others embrace in the place where I first said yes, I don't think we could have spent our anniversary in a more perfect way.
